Last month, we went to Rockwell Tent to celebrate the life of Steve Jobs - Visionary. Innovator. Icon.
Organized by the Philippine Mac User's Group, the event became a tribute night for the man who created the most valuable tech company in the world.
All things start and end with Apple for many of the people who were present that night, us included. The general mood was festive, even if everyone seemed to be carrying a heavy heart and deep sadness over Steve Jobs' passing. Most of us managed to smile and keep the joy in our hearts.
A huge wall poster with the famous photo of Steve Jobs was set up near the wall after the entrance, on which people could write down their dedications, wishes and whatever they felt like writing.
The stage showcased a simple backdrop of the Apple logo, with the bite cut out in the silhouette of Steve Jobs. It was more akin to an altar on which many of us would be paying our respects to on this special night.

Some Apple users gave brief speeches on what Apple means to them, on how it has changed their lives, improved their work and inspired them to think different.
T-shirts bearing Jobs's famous quotes, printed white on black, were handed out to the attendees. One said, "Stay hungry. Stay foolish." Another was, "Why join the navy when you can be a pirate?" While another set printed, "I want to put a ding on the universe."

On the far end of the tent was displayed some old, vintage, Apple and Mac computers that allowed everyone to gawk at, inspect and take photos of.
The highlight of the evening was a song tribute that encouraged everyone with an iPad or iPhone to display the candle app on their screen while the music blared John Lennon's "Imagine."
It truly was an amazing night to celebrate the man who gave us magical devices that made our lives a little bit more bearable, easier and fun!
